Leh Ladakh Tour : A Scenic Himalayan Adventure

Arrive in Delhi by flight. Delhi is rich in history and culture, with beautiful monuments and a diverse population.

A private car will be waiting to pick you up from the airport and take you to your hotel for check-in. The remainder of the evening is yours to enjoy as you wish. You’ll spend the night at your hotel in Delhi.

In the morning, take your flight from Delhi to Leh.  Welcome to Leh! This beautiful destination is known for being both traveler-friendly and enchanting. As you explore, you'll find the old town filled with stupas and charming mud brick houses. The landscape is dominated by a steep rocky ridge featuring an impressive Tibetan-style palace and fort at the top.  

A private car will pick you up at Leh Airport and take you to your hotel. After checking in, you have the whole day free to enjoy at your own pace. Leh is located over 3000 meters above sea level, so take some time to relax and get used to the high altitude. Dinner and an overnight stay will be at your hotel in Leh.  

After enjoying breakfast, it’s time to explore the local sights! Start your day with a visit to Leh Palace, which was built in the 17th century. Be sure to check out the stunning views from the rooftop, where you can see the majestic Stok Kangri mountain and the beautiful Ladakh range.

Next, head over to Shey Palace & Monastery. Constructed in 1665 by King Deldon Namgyal as his summer retreat, this site is famous for its impressive statue of a seated Shakyamuni Buddha, which is made of copper and gold. It’s actually the second-largest Buddha statue in all of Ladakh!

Then, make your way to Thiksey Monastery, a true gem of Ladakhi architecture. Located on a hilltop about 20 kilometers from Leh, this monastery is known for resembling the Potala Palace in Lhasa. It’s a popular spot for pilgrims and offers incredible opportunities for exploration and sightseeing.

You’ll return to your hotel by evening, where dinner and an overnight stay await you.

After breakfast, get ready to explore the highlights of Leh. Your first stop is the Hall of Fame — a museum built by the Indian Army to honor the brave soldiers who lost their lives during the Indo-Pak wars. It’s a moving tribute to their courage and sacrifice.

Next, visit Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, a beautiful Sikh temple built in 1517. It was created in memory of Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of Sikhism, who is believed to have visited this region.

Then, make your way to Magnetic Hill, also known as "Cyclops hill" or Gravity Hill, where the landscape creates a remarkable optical illusion. On this downhill road, you might notice objects and cars appearing to roll uphill, defying gravity!  

After this, visit Sangam, where the Zanskar and Indus rivers meet. It’s a beautiful spot, and if you’re feeling adventurous, you could even try some rafting on the river.  

Afterward, visit Alchi Monastery, one of the oldest in Ladakh, built between 958 and 1055 CE. The monastery features incredible wall paintings that showcase the blend of Buddhist art and the influences of the Hindu kings from that era in Kashmir. You’ll also find giant Buddha statues and ornate wooden carvings, which have a baroque flair.  

In the evening, head back to Leh and visit the beautiful Shanti Stupa, a white-domed Buddhist monument located on a hilltop in Chanspa. Built in 1991 by a Japanese monk as part of a peace mission, it offers stunning views of the mountains and the town below. End your day with dinner and a relaxing overnight stay at your hotel in Leh.

After enjoying breakfast, we’ll start our journey from Leh to Nubra Valley, traveling via Khardung-La Pass, which is one of the highest motorable roads in the world at 18380 ft. The valley is about 159 kilometers from Leh. The route we’ll take goes through Leh – Phyang – Khardung La – Khardung – Khalsar – Diskit – Nubra Valley.

As we travel, we’ll pass by two notable Indian Army check-posts: South Pullu and North Pullu. These scenic spots showcase the stunning beauty of the surrounding nature. Along the way, we’ll also get to see charming villages where locals are busy farming.

We should arrive in Nubra Valley by early evening. This is a peaceful destination, perfect for those wanting to unwind and connect with the local tribal community of Ladakh. To the northwest of the valley, you’ll find the Sasser Pass and the famous Karakoram Pass, which is part of the historic Silk Route and connects Nubra with Xinjiang in China.

We should reach Nubra Valley by early evening. This peaceful place is ideal for relaxing and getting a glimpse of Ladakh’s unique tribal culture. To the northwest lie the Sasser Pass and the famous Karakoram Pass — once part of the ancient Silk Route that connected India with China’s Xinjiang region. After arriving, we’ll check in at the hotel. Enjoy dinner and a comfortable overnight stay in Nubra Valley.

After breakfast, get ready to explore the stunning Nubra Valley. Your first stop will be the Diskit Monastery, the largest and oldest monastery in the area. A major highlight is the towering 100-foot Maitreya Buddha statue, blessed by the Dalai Lama himself — a truly inspiring sight.

Next, visit the Hunder Sand Dunes. Apart from its culture and monasteries, Nubra is home to these stunning silver sand dunes, located at an altitude of 4,000 meters. It’s a rare desert landscape surrounded by snow-capped mountains. These dunes are incredible, featuring a tranquil stream that winds through the landscape, surrounded by breathtaking countryside and majestic snow-capped mountains. It truly feels like stepping into a dream! Don’t miss the chance to ride a rare Bactrian camel (the double-humped variety) for a unique experience.  

Afterward, visit the Panamic Hot Springs, where the mineral-rich water is known for its healing properties. You’ll return to your hotel by evening, ready to relax. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in Nubra Valley.  

After breakfast, you'll drive from Nubra Valley to the stunning Pangong Lake. This beautiful high-altitude lake sits at 4,350 meters (14,270 feet) and stretches 134 kilometers (83 miles) between India and China.  

You should reach Pangong Lake by late afternoon. Once you check in at the camps or cottages, you'll be wowed by the amazing views of the mountains and the dreamy blue waters of the lake. The water is salty, crystal clear, and shines brilliantly under the sun. Spend your evening at your own pace—take a stroll along the shores of the lake or enjoy a Yak safari for something fun and different.  

Dinner and your overnight stay will be in the lovely camps or cottages near Pangong Lake.  

After enjoying breakfast, you'll head out on a drive from Pangong Lake to Leh. Along the way, make sure to stop at Hemis Monastery, known as the largest monastic institution in Ladakh. This monastery is also the wealthiest Buddhist monastery in India, famous for its impressive collection of ancient treasures, including a stunning copper Buddha statue and stupas made of gold and silver. You can also explore the sacred Thangkas, murals, and various artifacts that the monastery houses. In the evening, you’ll arrive back in Leh and check-in to your hotel. Spend the rest of the evening relaxing at your own pace. Enjoy dinner and a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel in Leh.

After breakfast, you'll check out from the hotel. A private car will take you to Leh airport for your return flight to Delhi. Once you arrive in the capital, a representative will greet you and transport you to your accommodation.  

After a hearty breakfast, we'll head to Delhi Airport, specifically Indira Gandhi International Airport, to conclude our journey. As we wrap up this adventure, think back on the wonderful memories from our trip to Leh-Ladakh that will last a lifetime.
